Really interesting.

I must admit to following 'recipes' when I was doing my college work, however I would get so far down the list and start trying different things too.

Yeah I think that is OK, try all the recipes at first, the danger is getting stuck with the recipes. I remember the time when we had a judge talking about competitions and insisted that using 1/3s was the rule of 1/3s and didn't want to hear that it was not a rule.

I remember also talking to a painter about the so called rule of 1/3s and she commented it was often a recipe for a boring, static composition.

The online photographer is one of the best and most intelligent of the photography blogs on the web which I read quite regularly.

I think my absolute pet hate is some people buying a camera, downloading some actions for the copy of photoshop they have managed to get and then saying they are a professional photographer!
The worst actions I know of for photoshop are the Florabella actions as everyones images look exacally the same.

I don't have any Photoshop actions. I have a few extra presets for Lightroom but very rarely use them.

It is strange I think that there is an addiction to doing querky things to pictures to try and make them different the article I got Pam D R to send round I thought was really challenging.

I did a shoot for Bethesda chapel at the beginning of June of over a hundred who had gathered to celebrate the 150th anniversary. Just a straight 'record' shot, gave the chapel an A2 print as a birthday present - result the most orders I have ever had for a print 35 A4 prints of that one image!!

Then with a rare visit to Photoshop have made this to go with the big print.
